Tempo detection ignores a pre-set loop length

If I make a couple of loops and, in their properties set them to 1 bar long and record the first loop into one of them, I expect the second one to be exactly the same length. What actually happens is that if the loop would have a BPM slower than the minimum set in the tempo detection properties, the second loop is only half the length of the first.

This is frustrating.

It seems that, either the bpm detector should ignore its range and respect the specified length of the donut that catches the first loop, or there should be some way of pre-specifying donut lengths as multiples of other loops/donuts.
