Kick drum sound in new loops... how to switch off?

edited October 2021 in Loopy Pro Beta

Every time I record a new loop, it adds a kick drum in it... how do I switch it off? I can't seem to find anything in settings...

  • ++++ my deepest gratitude for creating this masterpiece! Your love and devotion to it Michael is so obvious. thank you!

  • Just to add this only seems to happen when I've not got any external audio interface or mic, only with the Ipad mic

  • Interesting. Could it be recording your initial tap, maybe? Recording starts on lift (rather than press), so try tapping, then lift off when you're ready.

  • I’ve found this as well. I think it’s recording the second tap - to stop the recording of a loop.

Only tried using the iPad mic.

And its happening more on the side of the ipad where the mic is located.

  • FYI, unless further info is forthcoming that would indicate otherwise, I consider this not a bug, but merely a usage issue.

@Michael what concerns me is that tapping to stop recording is being recorded, right? Shouldn’t the signal from tapping to stop the loop be immediate? Or is this be unreasonable - like can’t be faster than the speed of sound unreasonable?

    • no interface connected
    • Tap loop on far sides of lateral ipad
    • record loop
    • Tap to stop recording - hear audible tap

it could be just heavy tapping. This is a bit of an artificial use case people will be using an interface?

  • Hmm. Perhaps you're right - I guess I could try to wind back the clock a bit when you stop recording, to eliminate the last 0.1 seconds or whatever of recorded audio...

Don’t know dude. I have no idea how touch screens are implemented - is there a threshold / sensitivity that could be tweaked? 🤔
