Toggle mute without record if empty?

I did a search but didn't come up with anything that seemed relevant. Is there a way to toggle mute on a track without having it record if it's empty? I'm guessing no, as the "record when empty" is a core feature of Loopy (and a good one under most use cases!). But I have a use case where I simply want to toggle tracks on/off. Possible?

  • There is a binding for "mute all" and one for " unmute all". I think that would do what you are asking.

Otherwise no, as far as I can see.

  • Yeah, so "mute/unmute all" won't work because I have some loops that I want to keep active. What I'm looking for is "mute track", which I understand now doesn't exist...

... So confused. Why would you want to mute an empty track? There is nothing there to mute...

anyway, sorry to hear you aren't able to do what you were hoping

  • Sorry, I should have said "mute track if filled, ignore if empty".

  • Have you tried the "Mute" action, @lukesleepwalker, under Track Actions?

"Mute track immediately. If a track is muted or blank, do nothing."
