How to use for Live Performance?
Hi! I currently have the Loopy HD on my iPad and I really want to use it for a live performance but I have no idea where to start. I'd like to know how I can connect my dynamic mic to the iPad and the audio out to the amplifier. At gigs I also play the electric guitar and I came across an article online that I'll be needing the Behringer XENYX502 5-Channel Mixer to plug my mic and my Zoom G1XON multi-effects pedal to and sound out to the amplifier. Do I really need the mixer? or is there a cable I can buy to connect the dynamic mic to my iPad and from iPad to audio source?

hi aliciaaaaa,
here is some stuff to look at:

http://forum.loopyapp.com/discussion/2663/new-to-loopy-need-some-input-on-equipment-should-this-be-in-techniques#latest
http://forum.loopyapp.com/discussion/2630/is-this-possible-what-do-i-need#latest
and there are so many recommandations to make...
in short:
apple camera connection kit, usb hub (powered), mixer with or without usb interface (behringer?), when you don´t want a mixer you will need an interface (usb/class compliant=no drivers needed) to plug in your mic (in front of the amp???) from there the signal goes to the ipad/loopy and then back to your power amp.
signal path:
guitar>efx> input amp>mic>input interface/mixer>cck/loopy>output interface/mixer>input power amp.
and here some mic stuff:

poor sound...

short lightning cable...

cable length?
http://www.thomann.de/gb/ik_multimedia_irig_mic_hd_black.htm
cable length?
in case you want to sing through your mic...that would be another story. but i think you want to mic your guitar amp?

but then you will need a cck additionally.
Hi there
I'm also new to this; For live performance, I'm wanting to use Loopy to record a single piano or keyboard track, and then loop vocal tracks over it. I have;
Questions;
Is there a visual diagram that shows what gets connected to what, for newbies like me?
What equipment am I missing?
How can you record vocals using headphones so you can hear yourself, and also have them coming though the PA for audience members to hear?
Apologies for the newbie questions!
Sharon
@sharon, do you have some money for a small new audio interface?
http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_ucontrol_uca_222.htm
and four of these adapters?
http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_sssnake_1811_klinke_chinch_adapter.htm
and some instrument cables (3 or 4)
http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_sssnake_gkp3_instrumentenkabel.htm
signal path:
audio signal into ipad:
ipad<camera kit<behringer uca222 (usb)<aux send (fender passport) <fender passport mic/line inputs <sm58 and keyboard (audio output)
audio signal from ipad to pa:
behringer uca222 output > fender passport aux return
monitor signal for you (headphones):
behringer uca222 headphones out >
your normal headphones
the tascam interface might work but maybe a bit noisy.
the behringer uca222 is a reliable thing with acceptable audio results and it supplies audio out to pa and headphones (and it´s affordable for most people).
that´s only one option you have to start and arrange things.
