Loopy and Animoog

edited January 2012 in General
I currently have 2 loves in my music making life...my Loopy app + my Animoog app!!! Unfortunately they don't play well together at all - Animoog makes Loopy all stuttery and shy.

I don't know if this is do-able but I would like to request a means to get them to get along!!!

Cheers

  • Hey @TyDy76 - ah, yes, that old chestnut. The problem seems to be that both Animoog and Loopy are pretty demanding, and when Animoog's in the foreground, it competes with Loopy for time on the processor.

The only solution is to try to optimise things more, so that both can run simultaneously - It's on my to-do list to see if I can find places to pinch CPU cycles on my end.
  • Thank you kindly...that would make me a very happy camper!!!
  • I'll see what I can do on the Animoog side as well. We're due for a major refactoring some time soon, which will be an attempt to do all the same things using fewer resources. One caveat though, if we do free up any resources we'll be strongly tempted to use them up again with new features! :) So it goes... in any case the hardware will catch up with these apps eventually and you'll be able to run 256 simultaneous instances on your iPhone9GSi...
  • @Amos - Haha, great to hear from you! You're right, it won't be long 'till these things will be able to handle a bunch more (I'm kinda counting on it, for Audio Bus!). Of course, then we'll all just be doing more in each app ;-)
  • @amos: Great to hear about your planned refactoring....I'm a great fan of Animoog as well as Loopy, and my greatest hope right now is that you'll increase the record time buffer!
